Hate Crimes And Where They Stand.

Hate crimes are terrible and inexcusable acts of violence and bigotry. Every person deserves to live in a society where they feel safe and accepted regardless of their race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or other identity. Unfortunately, hate crimes remain a major problem in the United States and around the world. According to the FBI, there were over 7,000 reported hate crimes in the United States in 2018. This means that someone was targeted simply because of their identity, and it is unacceptable.

Hate crimes can have devastating effects on victims and their families. Victims of hate crimes may be left feeling scared and vulnerable, and the trauma of hate crimes can stay with them for the rest of their lives. Additionally, these types of crimes can have a chilling effect on entire communities, making people afraid to express their identity in public or even to be seen with those who are of a different race or background than themselves. It is essential that all people work together to combat hate crimes, and that those who are perpetrators of such acts are held accountable. We must stand together against hate and intolerance, and work to create a society in which everyone is safe and accepted.
