MY QUEST 4

Episode 4.

Despite the difficulties I pass through, I still love going to Church, especially 'A Night With Our Lady'.

A night with our lady, is a spiritual program we do in the Church, every first Tuesday of the month. And it is always at night.

The program starts with intercessory prayer, and then the 'Holy Rosary', and on most occasions, Holy Mass.

Nevertheless, that Tuesday night program, people didn't come as much, unlike before. I would have gone on Tuesday or Wednesday as the case may be. But I chose to travel on Thursday so that I can attend the program and also take part in the rosary partner group.

The Rosary partner group is a platform where we write down our names willingly. The purpose of this program is to pray for one another. (Praying five decades of the rosary including a Litany).

My Favourite always comes for this program, but that day, she didn't come, due to her busy schedule. That night, we prayed fifteen decades of the rosary and ended it with a litany to the Blessed Virgin Mary. On some occasions, we pray for the twenty decades.

We didn't sleep much, because we ended the prayers around four am or so, and Morning Mass was by six. Our Sacristan, Anosike Emmanuel, always tries his best to be there.

When it was five thirty am, my Sacristan and I, went to the Sacristy to prepare things for Mass, and vest ourselves for Mass serving.

But before I went upstairs to vests for Mass, I went to the tap to wash my mouth, because I don't like receiving Christ(Holy Communion) with an unclean mouth, even though, I haven't brushed my teeth.

After vesting, the Sacristan and I processed in for Mass, together with the Deacon and Priest. I can't remember if it was Fr. Dominic Udosen or  Fr. Johnbosco, or Fr. Godfrey, all I can tell is that a priest celebrated the Mass.

I could remember, on that Tuesday night, my humble President (The President of Altar Servers) called to inform me earlier that day, that he won't be able to make it due to the rain falling at his place.  But as God may have it, he showed up.

Also, Tuesday, was one of the Altar Server's birthdays so he told me, to send her(The Celebrant) a birthday message via her Mother's line since she doesn't have a phone, which I did.

That same night, I was called to come and partake in a meal of Ofe Nsala, also known as White soup with Garri.

Instead, I rejected the offer, the major reason, I rejected it, wasn't because I am satisfied. It was because the Lady who bought the food doesn't know how to cook. I have tasted her meal once, and I regretted ever eating it.

To me, I know, she would be annoyed that, I didn't taste her food, but that would be much better than letting her know that she didn't know how to cook.

I know her too well, she doesn't have a good mouth. She can insult Africa, so because of that, I just decided to hold my peace.

Although, Michael that informed me earlier on, that he won't be able to attend the prayer program, later showed up. They were the ones that were eating the food. The worse part of the story is that as they were eating, she was

insulting me, that I know how to eat very well.

I felt uneasy, because of the people that heard it. To cut the long story short, I know how to eat for Africa, even as at that, I still know people that know how to eat more than me. I am not trying to be defensive, but that is the truth.

Even as at that, we give glory to God.
