DIY POTATO JUICE: Benefits, side effects and recipes

Potato Juice is made from potato. Potatoes are a rich source of iron, calcium, riboflavin, and phytonutrients. 

5 Health benefits of POTATO JUICE 

  1. Aids weight loss because it contains a lot of vitamin C which helps to increase metabolism. 
  2. Treats ulcer,constipation, and migraines. 
  3. It cleanse the liver and gall bladder.
  4. Taking potato juice after meal restrains the growth of hunger hormones.
  5. Speeds up wound healing and reduce the rate of developing cancer. 

However, research supports that potato juice is good for the skin. How?

  1. Prevents anti-aging effects.
  2. Cleanse skin.
  3. Contains high amount of vitamin C which is beneficial for skin hydration. 
  4. It brightens the skin and gives a glowing skin.
  5. Skin inflammation reduction. 
  6. Tightens skin pores and helps to get rid of wrinkles.

It treats dandruff, dryness and itching of hair.  HOW?

Get a potato juice of small quantity, add 1 tsp of honey and egg yolk. Apply it to your hair root and shampoo.

I will be giving 3 recipes of potato juice. But first, how do you make this juice? 

It's so simple to make.

  • Get your potatoes  (as required).
  • Wash them thoroughly. 
  • Peel and grate them.
  • Collect the grated potatoes and put them on a linen cloth.
  • Squeeze the juice out. 

If you're using a juicer.

Wash the potatoes, peel and cut into pieces. Put the pieces into a juicer, then collect the juice. You can also store left over after making use of it. Just store in a  tightly closed container and refrigerate. 

NB: It's most beneficial when it is consumed within 20 minutes of making it. It must also be consumed within 1 to 2 days if refrigerated.  

Does it have side effects? Yes , it does.

There's nothing beautiful without a disadvantage, just as this potato juice. It may cause Constipation, Vomiting, and Stomach upset. People with diabetes, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before consumption. 

As stated earlier, here👇 are the 3 Potato juice recipe. 

  • Potato Juice with Rice Flour Face pack.

Add 1 tsp of rice flour to one potato piece juice. Mix them together and keep aside for 9 to 10 minutes. Add rosewater to form a smooth semi-liquid consisitency, apply on your face. Allow to dry and then wash off with water.

  • Potato Juice with Olive oil.

Collect fresh potato juice, add a bit quantity of olive oil and mix together.  Apply on your face and leave for 10 minutes.  Wash off with water.

  • Potato Juice with Lemon Juice.

Mix equal quantity of potato juice and lemon juice. Apply on your face . Allow it to dry,then wash off with water. 

If you keep doing this at least 3 times every week, you will see differences in your skin.
