Bank for International Settlements
The Bank for International Settlements is an international financial institution owned by around 60 central banks.
The role of BIS has been ever changing: from monitoring cross-border capital flows, being an emergency fund for some countries facing a crisis, to now being a promoter of cooperation between central banks across the world.
India’s RBI, US Fed, Bank of England, and many other central banks from across the world are members of BIS.
